Definition - What does Vertical Nystagmus mean?

Vertical nystagmus is the rapid and involuntary movement of the eye in a vertical direction. It can occur in one or both eyes and is generally caused by a malfunction in certain areas of the brain. Nystagmus can be congenital or acquired.
