The Coroner reports the Glee star Cory Monteith died of a seemingly accidental overdose of heroin and alcohol. Reports indicate the 31-year-old star was found dead in his hotel in the early morning hours on Saturday. Vancouver police have stated that he died alone in his room, and there was evidence in the room which was “consistent with a drug overdose.” The British Columbia Coroners Service confirmed the death was the result of “mixed-drug toxicity involving heroin and alcohol.”
All evidence, however, points to an accidental death. The Coroner’s Service claims that there was no evidence that this was a deliberate attempt to end his life but rather simply a sad and tragic event. The Coroner’s Service has indicated they will not disclose details about what they have found in Monteith’s room.
