Definition of Vehicle Confiscation

Many states allow the state to confiscate the vehicle of drivers who have been charged and convicted of DUI. Vehicle confiscation is generally used against drivers who have been convicted of multiple DUI offenses and can be either permanent or temporary. Vehicles are generally returned after a specified time period if the driver has paid all necessary administrative costs and fines.
