In Arlington, Texas, a county commissioner from a neighboring county was charged with DUI and unlawfully carrying a concealed weapon after he called police to help him with 2 flat tires on Six Flags Drive early Saturday morning.

Jim Webster, who represents Precinct 4 in Parker County, told authorities about that he was carrying a weapon when officers arrived.

The elected official submitted to a blood alcohol test after his arrest. The Fort Worth Star Telegram reports that results from the test should be available within two weeks.

After being cited April 19 for suspicion of driving under the influence, Burien, Washington City Manager Mike Martin was formally charged with drunk driving Wednesday, May 6.

Martin seems to have received preferential treatment when the his vehicle crashed into a ceramic planter on 14th Avenue South. Police took him into the police station after he refused a breathalyzer test, cited him and then drove him home.

Most people who are pulled over for suspicion of DUI will end up being arrested if they refuse the breathalyzer test, not cited and driven home by the police.

In the case of an alcohol related crash where officers say they can smell alcohol on the breath of the driver it is very unusual for the driver to not be arrested.
